Music of the week (non-Christmas)

Heeey :)

So this is a song that makes me cry a bit.

I moved away from my homeland six yers ago. It was the hardest and worst experience I have ever had in my lifetime. All those people I grew up with,the town where I lived that I knew sooo well. The faces I can only see every two years...Memories burning my brain,bringing tears to my eyes,wishing I could go back to those "good old days".

Don't get me wrong,I'm not depressed,not now. I love the new country where I live,though I miss the people terribly.

So here it is!

Yup, only a week til you-know-what!

That's right! It's only a week until Christmas!!! Give us a big YAY!!!!!!! All the shops have officially ditched the normal pop songs and replaced them with the classic "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Do They Know It's Christmas?".
But what's also coming up is the new year. For a lot of us (as school has just finished), the next time we will see our friends it will be 2012! And that's a scary but exciting thought.
Anyway, here comes the music part of my post.
I bet many of you have heard the oh-so-classic "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey. But have you heard the new Michael Buble version? He recently released a new Christmas album with lots of well-known Christmassy songs loaded onto it. Enjoy!

Oh, and P.S. If any of you hate Michael Buble, then SHAME ON YOU!

Woah oh...

Hey guys,
Well I know you must be really angry at me for not posting for aaaaaages!! I'm really sorry!! Blame school and exams....

Well,let's forget about the past eh?

So this week's song is from my favourite films at the mo,The Chronicles of Narnia. I LOVE the books and the films,seriously,I'm obsessed!!

So this version of the song isn't the official,but my favourite because it has scenes from the film "The voyage of the Dawn Treader" which I love oh so much! I need to get a life!!



There is a very good bit in the film which made me think alot:
Lucy wants to look beautiful like her big sister,so she finds a spell in a book of cantations,and at night she says the spell. She then looks in the mirror and sees herself as her sister. Then,going through the mirror,she finds her two brothers who greet her and tell her how beautiful she is,but when she asks where Lucy (herself) is,they don't know who she is talking about. Finally she gets out and as she still looks int he mirror,she now sees herself back to normal,and Aslan (the lion) is standing next to her. He tells her Not To Run From Who You Are.

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't been on for a while...I've been sick like three times in a row!!
Anyway, here is the music I'm gonna post today:

It's from a film called "Braveheart" ,which is about a Scottish man called William Wallace who faught for the freedom of Scotland. I've seen the film and I wouldn't adivise it to anyone under 15,it is very bloodfirsty. I ♥ music. It loosens me up. I dunno what I would do without music, cause even know, my brother is playing drums, and it seems that all my life I have been surrounded in it. If you walk around in some cities, you will hear music of all kinds.

nowerdays, Classical music, is going down the drain. People think it's what grannies listen too, and therefore, boring. People don't realise that they wouldn't have their Rock, Rap, Rhianna, Lady GaGa etc, without it. For a moment, I just want you to listen to some J.S. Bach, Handel, maybe even Mozart if you can. Try to. No really. just find some old CDs, or maybe something on youtube, whatever you find, Classical music is reallllyyy pretty, and you should give it a chance. Hello. Pip here. 

On Friday the 11th I went to a Phatfish concert in Liverpool cathedral!

It was amazing!

Cathy Burton started. She does guitar music. Tiny bit celtic, but happy. 

Then it was Phatfish and Lou for the rest of the evening. 

The music was fantastic, and I loved every moment, and for the echoey cathedral, the sound was amazing!

The cool part (Don't mean to brag or show off....) was that the Guitarists and a backing singer stayed at our house overnight, but that's just cos dad is their friend, cos he has organized concerts, soooo yeaahhhh

Soundtracks

Music is nice beautiful. I suppose there are some exceptions of rock when people shout to much or when it's to rocky in general, and when it just Rap all the way through, but in general, music is beautiful.

Most beautiful of all to me, is generally soundtracks, and classical. Let's start with a few, nice, recognizable tunes, from certain soundtracks.

Well, before I name them and you shoot off to Spotify or Youtube, You ought to know who they'll be by.

Movie Soundtracks are loved by pretty much everyone, but now, rock rap and Lady GaGa are taking control. We are forgetting the beautiful tunes of adventure, danger, and fun, and putting in their place, a load of shouting, swearing and terrible lyrics. If you like rock, rap or Lady GaGa, I'm not telling you to stop. I like rocky music, I like some rap, (I don't like Lady GaGa but who cares) but I just want to encourage you to listen to something with work in it for a change try them, and if you don't like it, it's ok but just I want people to listen to them, and comment what they think bellow. I think most of you will find you like some tracks, but anyways. I don't wanna drag on.

Pippin (AGAIN!)

Hiya again guys! Pippin here.
I am going to reveal that there is music behind my name.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy has long been my favorite films, and not only the story, but the soundtrack too. I am one of my favorite characters from that story. My favorite tracks in the whole thing though, are (In order,) Concerning Hobbits, In Dreams and March of the Ents.

Enough of that.

My musical tastes are varied, for I like pretty much anything!
Rap? Yes some
Rock? yes some
Classical? Yep! especially ol' J.S. Bach.
Funk? Oh yes! Especially the funky Kate Simmonds Album, Heart and Soul
Pop? Urrmmm does Owl City count?
Coldplay (whatever type of music that is.)
Christian stuff? Definitely. Lou Fellingham, Phatfish, Geraldine Latty, Jules Bert, Simon Brading, Stuart Townend, Matt Redman, David Crowder*Band, Tim Hughes, You name it, I probables like it.
